Our Campaign for Greening our Street

Lauriston Street and Lauriston Gardens are ideally placed for establishing a green tunnel in the Old Town, to transform this inner city street-scape into an environment where birds and bees, and local residents can thrive.

Greening our Street is a community group with about 200 friends.

We currently maintain a 20m Wildflower Plot, and a small orchard and community garden in the Meadows, with the help of local residents and schoolchildren.

Greening our Street is a member of FOMBL, which supports our new project.

Our current campaign is about saving the Meadows and Bruntsfield Links from environmental damage and scorching. We held a couple of meetings and threw a Better Barbeque party at the community garden in the summer. You can see photos of our banner and party activities on our Dont Burn the Meadows FB event page.
